Top Manufacturing Cities in China

China has changed a lot in the last few decades. It's economy grew really fast. The biggest reason is the cheap labor and that made China the world's manufacturing hub. Different cities are famous for different manufacturing industries. In this article I wanted to talk for some of these cities and what you can find there. 

Firstly, I wanted to talk about Zhejiang Province. 

This is my favorite one, mostly because of Yiwu Futian Market. Futian Market is huge. It has 5 districts, 4 floors and thousands of stores where you can buy from. If you are just starting or it is your first time in China, you should go there first. The best place to try and test new products without breaking the bank and keep the stock under control.

Hangzhou is a beautiful city which you should visit. If you are looking for silk, you are in the right place. Hangzhou's Silk Town is the largest silk market in China with hundreds of silk shops selling a wide variety of pure silk fabric and silk apparel.

Wenzhou is another city in Zhejiang Province worth visiting. You can find shoes and shoe accessories. There are thousands of factories and small workshops that make all kinds of shoes, men, women and children's shoes.

Keqiao is slowly becoming textile manufacturing capital of the world. Factories from all over China go there to buy fabrics.

Did you know that the first umbrella was invented in China? If you are looking to buy umbrellas, Shangyu is the place where you should go. That's where my friend, Elvis buys them from.

Haining or Haining China Leather Town is the "Leather Capital". You can find great quality products.

If you haven't heard of Guangdong Province, you probably heard of cities like Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Shenzhen is mostly famous for electronics. Huaqiangbei area is the largest electronics market in China. You can find different electronics goods there, starting from small accessories to phones, tablets and computers.

In Guangzhou you can find a lot of shopping centers, malls and wholesale markets. You can find almost everything that is daily use related. Guangzhou Baima Clothing Wholesale Market is the best market in Guangzhou and if you are looking for clothes, this should be your number one stop.

Xintang Town, Zengcheng City is the largest export base for China's jeans manufacturers. If you are looking specifically for denim, you go there.

Another big and important city in Guangdong Province is Foshan. This city is famous for manufacturing furniture. Tianyi Furniture City is one of the malls where you can find different types and different quality furniture. 

Looking for toys? Shantou city is your go to place. Chenghai Toy Base has thousands businesses you could choose from and you will always find toys that your business could sell.

Dalang is a town in the South of Dongguan. There are over 3000 knitting factories and it is their primary industry.

Guzhen Town is famous for being China's capital of lighting. You can find all kinds of products there, from small to outdoor Led Billboards. Generating billions yuan and exporting to over 130 countries.

I first heard of Jiangsu when an Albanian National football player (Hamdi Salihi) went to play there. I found out from a dear Chinese friend of mine that almost 80% of his optic glasses chaing stores (over 20 of them in Henan Province) glasses come from Jiangsu, Danyang Glasses Market.

In Jingdezhen city in Jianxi Province, you can find high quality ceramics. 

Another Province that is interesting to visit and do business is Fujian. In Fujian you can find building materials, textiles, clothing and shoes too.

There are other provinces, cities and towns in China, like Hebei, Tianjin and Shandong, manufacture different kinds of products.
